Workinton Qatar in partnership with International Artists of Doha (IAD) hosted their first group art exhibition “Changes” on Wednesday 25th August 2021.
22 international artists based in Qatar displayed their works: depicting their perception on Changes – human adaption to its surrounding and experience.
“The IAD was formed in early 2011 by two Dutch Artists, as a non-profit organization for International Artists living and working in Doha, Qatar” said Maria Al Bader, Chairwoman of International Artists of Doha.
She added that “We strive to be a platform that inspires community members to express their creativity through artwork – creating a safe environment where artists can share their thoughts, opinions, and dreams. This exhibition that we are launching in partnership with Workinton Qatar is the work result of 22 Artists of almost 2 years pandemic lockdown under one same theme CHANGES.”
Some of Qatar’s prominent names attended the event, including Guest of Honor H.E. Mr. Oscar Leon Gonzalez (Ambassador of Cuba in Qatar, H.E. Mr. Jamal Al-Bader (Ambassador of Qatar in Cuba), a special performance by Mrs. Yukari Sunaga (Spouse of Ambassador of Japan in Qatar) and various other Ambassadors. Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Heads of Alfardan Group as well as Workinton Qatar Partners and Members.
Workinton Qatar under Alfardan Properties established itself as Qatar’s first Coworking Space in 2018. A year later they launched their first Art Exhibition. Today they have featured over 20 artists and exhibitions within their workspaces and are the first Coworking Space in the MENA Region to host such a concept. Megha Sharma, Events and Culture Specialist at Workinton Qatar said that: “At Workinton, we don’t just want to be an enabler for startups and tech-enabled businesses, but also a platform for artists and creatives to thrive.
